The scheme involves redevelopment and revival of a prominent example of Art Deco period architecture in an important town centre location. Works to the ground floor will create three new retail units, while a vertical extension and alterations to the upper storeys will provide eight new residential apartments. Lightweight curtain glazing to the additional storey gives a sensitive but updated appearance, while maintaining subservience to the building's historic character.
